Anatoly Chernyh is a famous St. Petersburg portraitist. He has portrayed remarkable historical figures on his canvases such as Peter the Great, Alexander II and many prominent representatives of Russian culture (P. F. Lesgaft, V.S. Vysotsky, D.S. Likhachev).
His portraits are full of colors and strong brushstrokes that transfer individual traits of each person he portrays. The artist has a very attentive approach transferring the subtle mental organization of the person who poses for him.
He was exhibited in Mariinskiy Theatre, Russain National Library and others.
